📝 About quantities:
Always the same too many or not enough… Foodster will help you to do the perfect cheese platter with right quantity to end your meal: 50gr per person.
If you plan to organize a Raclette party: you need 200gr of raclette per adult and 150gr per child; 100gr are enough for children under 6.
Of course those quantities are recommended but if you and your friends are cheese lover, you can raise the quantities.
Don’t forget, raw milk cheeses have a stronger flavour than cheeses made from pasteurised milk.
⚠️ Raw milk cheeses are not recommended for pregnant women!
To make the perfect cheese platter, first you need the perfect cheese.
🍴 TipsSo now, how to make your perfect cheese platter :
- Don’t overcrowd your cheese platter. This makes it harder for you to carry the platter and makes it harder for your guests to cut which ever they desire. If you are between 2 and 15, 3 different cheeses are enough. Otherwise you will have a small portion for each cheese. If you are more than 15 you can have more different cheeses.
Platter of 3 cheeses: you need one Brie cheese or camembert (donner noms des produits) ; one goat cheese and what is called by cheesemaker one “hard cheese” such as Comté, Emmental, Beaufort …Instead of the goat cheese you can put a Tomme cheese or St nectaire or Morbier.
Platter of 5 cheeses: you need one Brie cheese or camembert (donner noms des produits) ; one goat cheese; one Tomme cheese or St Nectaire; one blue cheese and what is called by cheesemaker one “hard cheese” such as Comté, Emmental, Beaufort… You can replace the blue cheese by a sheep cheese.
- Introduce other foods to compliment the cheese such as crackers, grapes and baguettes. Make sure you serve these in a different bowl or platter. Don’t hesitate to put some jam in your platter, like a wine jam or red fruits jam (blackcurrant, berries...)
- So now, try for yourself and let’s enjoy! Make your cheese platter that suits you the best!
